Stewart Sarkozy-Banoczy

Stewart Sarkozy-Banoczy is a global authority on the resilience investment ecosystem and specializes in a range of social, environmental and societal solutions for climate adaptation and resilience building. Stewart was in a leadership position and part of the founding team with the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities program and went on to be a co-founder of the successor organization, Resilient Cities Network, where he rounded out ten plus years in the role of Global Director for Policy and Investments.
Stewart has been involved with the development of “pools, tools, and partners” for resilience design and implementation of projects that provided new avenues for whole community resilience and specifically the inclusion of vulnerable populations, including specific efforts in indigenous and small island communities with local and global partners across sectors. Stewart founded one of the first Indigenous community development financial institutions and went on to negotiate philanthropic and private partnerships with the US Department of Housing and Hurricane Sandy Task Force.
Stewart is the Founder of Precovery Labs, a hub for community, impact, and creativity. The firm focuses on strategy, implementation, and storytelling in support of resilience and precovery for the most vulnerable people and places. Stewart’s specialties include coastal and island resilience, resilient cities, and Indigenous community development. Stewart is a certified Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines (WEDG) Associate and is presently the Acting Executive Director and Steering Committee Chair for the Ocean Sewage Alliance.
